CSC40122 Certificate IV in Correctional Practice
The aim of the Integrated Rehabilitation Services Primary Training course is to equip newly recruited officers with the skills and knowledge to be effective in their new role.
The course and workplace assessments cover interviewing skills, behaviour change, risk assessment tools, case planning, critical thinking, case management, report writing, parole requirements and skills to work with the complex needs of offenders.
Open to new Case Management Officers, Community Corrections Officers and Services and Programs Officers only. Recruited officers only to enrol.
Blended – Face to face, virtual and online learning as well as in-class and workplace assessments.
This course will require completion of the following;
Learners are provided with 12-months to complete all training and assessment requirements. This commences with Integrated Induction and Core Skills training at the CSNSW Academy.
Following the completion of Integrated Induction and Core Skills training learners are required to complete on the job training and workplace assessments prior to obtaining the CSC40122 Certificate IV in Correctional Practice.
During the 4-week face-to-face training learners will complete in-class assessments, followed by workplace assessments.
On successful completion of all training and assessment learners will be issued CSC40122 Certificate IV in Correctional Practice.
