Each Initial Transitional Support (ITS) provider is linked to the relevant Community Corrections location and provides up to 12 weeks support for higher risk offenders, under the supervision of Community Corrections. The support period can be extended if considered necessary.

The service providers will work in collaboration with Community Corrections, with the support directly linked to the offender’s case plan to reduce the risk of reoffending.

Support services may include assisting offenders with accommodation needs, access to services (such as mental health and alcohol and other drug services) engaging in prosocial activities in the community, employment or education referrals.
