HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Workshop                            Delivery and assessment conducted by RTO 90075

Course overview

This workshop is a comprehensive training program designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge to provide a cardiopulmonary resuscitation in various settings, including the workplace, home, and community.

On completion, learners will be confident in their ability to treat and stabilise injured, ill, or unconscious individuals.

This workshop is delivered and assessed in accordance with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, other Australian national peak clinical body guidelines, and relevant CSNSW policies and procedures. 

Course outcomes

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to provide a first aid response in various situations, including:

  • Managed, in line with ARC guidelines, dealing with an unconscious casualty
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on an adult and infant casualty
  • Manage, in line with ARC guidelines, a first aid response to an unknown event
  • Use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Entry requirements

  • Open to all Correctional Officers and staff identified as requiring these skills 

Delivery mode

  • Blended – online and face to face in person

Learner commitment

This workshop will require completion of the following.

  • Prerequisite online component (30 Minutes – 1 hour) – before attending face to face workshop
  • Face-to-face (2.5 Hours)

Assessment

Learners will be assessed via:

  • Online assessment activities
  • In class scenario based assessment

Award

On successful completion of all training and assessment learners will be issued a Statement of Attainment in HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
