People with disability

The NSW Department of Communities & Justice is strongly committed to inclusion and the protection of the rights of people with disability.

Our department works actively to ensure these rights are understood and respected.

We have developed a range of resources and information for people with disability to ensure our services are inclusive. Browse these pages using the menu to find out more.

Disability Inclusion Action Plan

The DIAP will help us improve the way we deliver mainstream inclusive services to people with disability and to ensure that we excel in our employment practices.

Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2020 – 2024

In November 2020, we released our Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2020 – 2024. It provides a framework for creating positive change for our staff and service users with disability, over the next four years.

So that we can best respond to new challenges and opportunities as they arise during that time, it’s a fully digital plan, centred on two key initiatives: Action for Inclusion projects and ongoing consultation.

Projects will be led by divisions and branches, with consultation and oversight from our DIAP project team and a Senior Executive Governance Group, reporting directly to our board.

To learn more, head to the DIAP web hub on the DCJ public website.
